主人有酒欢今夕⑵, 请奏鸣琴广陵客⑶。
月照城头乌半飞⑷, 霜凄万木风入衣⑸。
铜炉华烛烛增辉⑹, 初弹渌水后楚妃⑺。
一声已动物皆静, 四座无言星欲稀⑻。
清淮奉使千余里⑼, 敢告云山从此始⑽。
Tang poems,
2006 serie
DETAILS: serie of paintings tribute to Chinese Tang poems and to contemporary China itself. This serie is the first big project dedicated to chinese heritage and to contemporary China and its contradictions. 70x100 cm diptic and triptic
canvases with dark background and white writings. The words are like sacred and peaceful lands. I selected from the 300 Tang poems the poems closer to western sensitivity or content or author biographies.

主人有酒欢今夕⑵, 请奏鸣琴广陵客⑶。
月照城头乌半飞⑷, 霜凄万木风入衣⑸。

兰叶春葳蕤,
桂华秋皎洁
欣欣此生意,
自尔为佳节
谁知林栖者,
闻风坐相悦
草木有本心,
何求美人折
A tender orchid-leaf in spring,
And a cinnamon-blossom bright in autumn Are each as self-contained as life itself, Which conforms them to a season. Then why should you think that a forest-hermit, Allured by sweet winds and contented with beauty, Would no more ask to
be transplanted Than any other natural flower?
